Call for Workshops and Tutorials

We welcome general proposals for workshops and tutorials related to Software Engineering and Applied Computing. Such tutorials should provide skills that participants will be able to take home at the end of the workshop. Contributors in this area can provide proposals of no more than a 2 to tutorials[@]acseac.org on or before January 5th, 2012.

For workshops, please include in your proposal:

  • title of the workshop
  • organizers and their affiliations
  • sample call for papers, including the main topics of the workshop
  • expected duration of the workshop, i.e., half day, full day, or 2 days
  • if the workshop was previously held, the number of published papers and attendees at the last workshop

For tutorials, include:

  • title of the tutorial
  • organizers, presenters, and their affiliations
  • abstract of the tutorial
  • a list of topics to be covered and some of their related bibliography
  • expected duration of the tutorial; i.e., 1/2 day, full day, or 2 days
  • if the tutorial was previously held, the location (i.e., which conference), date, and number of attendees at the last tutorial

The purpose of the workshops is to provide a comprehensive forum on topics which will not be fully explored during the main conference, by discussing technical and application issues in depth. The purpose of the tutorials is to provide educational material for training new professionals in the field, including students, practitioners and new researchers.

Proposers must supply justification for the relevance and viability of intended workshops/tutorials to allow competitive selection.  Specialized topics to be addressed in workshops/ tutorials may be sub-topics of the main conference topics, or may be general aspects, which cross over several of the major conference topics.

Our previous conference in Cape Town was a huge success!!! A big thank you to our sponsors and the participants

Some of the photos taken at the event are available here

We had a 43.76% paper acceptance rate and this time around it may be lower than that. Therefore, quality is key in what we are looking for .
