  Dr. Hakan Erdogomus, Kalemun Research Inc.
 

Dr. Hakan Erdogmus is a software engineering researcher, educator, and consultant based in Ottawa, Canada and an adjunct professor at the University of Calgary's Department of Computer Science. From 1995 to 2009, he was a research officer in the Software Engineering Group of the Canadian National Research Council's Institute for Information Technology, where he led the collaborative software development and software economics research threads. Dr. Erdogmus’s research focuses on software economics, software process, process measurement, and
modern software development practices.

He has published and presented extensively on these topics. He was a visiting Erasmus Mundus scholar at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from October 2011 to January 2012, and a 2003 recipient of the Eugene L. Grant Award given by the Engineering Economy Division of the American Society for Engineering Education. Dr. Erdogmus is the Editor in Chief Emeritus of IEEE Software. He served as Editor in Chief of this publication from 2007 to 2010.

He is a senior member of IEEE, a Gold Core member of IEEE Computer Society, an elected member of Computer Society’s Board of Governors, and the chair of its Transactions Operations Committee. In 2011, he received a Meritorious Service Award from the Computer Society. Dr. Erdogmus co-edited two books, Value-Based Software Engineering and Advances in Software Engineering, both published by Springer. He holds a BSc degree in Computer Engineering from Bogazici University (Istanbul, 1986), an MSc degree in Computer Science from McGill University (Montreal, 1989) and a PhD in Telecommunications from INRS, Université du Québec (Montreal, 1994).
